Mechanical Dust Collector
The Mechanical Dust Collector or Multiclone Dust Collector (MDC) is a air pollution control equipment used extensively in boiler application. MDC consists of a housing containing a number of collection tubes, each of which act as a centrifugal dust collector. The dust laden gas entering the dirty air plenum moves downwards into the collecting tube being guided by a helical vaned annular ring. The vanes assist in imparting a centrifugal action to the dust laden gases.
As the gas descends downwards, the dust , being heavier is thrown into the collection hopper and the clean gas ascends vertically into the outlet tube and is discharged collectively out of the unit through the outlet plenum. All collectors are shipped in maximum assembled condition resulting in lower erection man hours at the installation site.
